About Pleasant Valley

Welcome to Pleasant Valley

Located at the intersection of I-35 and I-435 north of the river, Pleasant Valley is home to approximately 3,000 residents who were fortunate enough to find the best kept secret in the Kansas City Metro.

Founded in 1955, Pleasant Valley became a Fourth-Class City in 1963. City government is headed by a mayor and eight alderpersons, each serving two-year terms. The council terms are staggered so that half of the seats are filled every other year. The city has its own police force, fire and ambulance service, municipal court, as well as a public works department that maintains our streets and sewers.

Our location affords an excellent area for both residential and commercial development. If you are interested in making Pleasant Valley home for your family or business, please contact City Hall at 816-781-3996 for any assistance you may need.

Thanks for visiting our website. Take a browse around and let us know how we can be of service to you.

Sincerely,
Mayor James Smith
