The 7th Judicial Circuit Court of Missouri, Pleasant Valley Municipal Division is an extension and qualified division of the Circuit Court of Clay County. The Municipal Court adjudicates traffic and other ordinance violations filed by the Pleasant Valley Police Department, Animal Control and Code Enforcement Officers.

Mission

Pleasant Valley Municipal Court’s mission is to treat the citizens who appear in a timely, courteous and professional manner and assure them of a fair and impartial disposition of their case(s).

Continuance

One continuance per defendant may be granted without a Court appearance on the INITIAL hearing only. No continuances will be granted on traffic accident cases or Nuisance cases. To receive a continuance you must contact the Court. This Court does NOT allow phones, cameras or recording devices in the Courtroom. NO CONTINUANCES WILL BE GRANTED BY THE COURT CLERKS ON THE SAME DAY AS COURT. 

Payment

Cash, checks, MasterCard and Visa are accepted as methods of payment. A check or money order should be made payable to the Pleasant Valley Municipal Division. Online payments can be made for most minor traffic violations without having to appear in court. Subpoenas

A subpoena is a legal order to appear in Court at a specific date and time. Subpoenas are only issued when a defendant pleads not guilty and wishes to have a trial. The Court may issue subpoenas to complainants, witnesses, and victims at least 30 days before the defendant’s Court date.
