ATTORNEY WALK-IN AMENDMENTS
Procedures
An attorney licensed to practice law in the State of Missouri may request the Pleasant Valley Prosecuting Attorney to amend certain violations in advance of any court appearance. At the Prosecutor’s discretion, the violation may then be amended without a court appearance and a receipt will be mailed to the Attorney of record.
To be eligible for an amendment without a court appearance, the following are required:
o Defendant MUST have a valid Driver’s License
o Not be involved in an accident
o Have a valid motor vehicle insurance policy in effect on the date of the violation
o Not have more than TWO violations. Seat belt citations do not count as one.
Process
The attorney shall make requests in person during Court business hours no later than the Friday before the scheduled Court appearance. The request shall include:
o Entry of appearance by counsel
o Copy of the citation
o Self-addressed stamped envelope for delivery of return receipt
o Law firm check payable to the City of Pleasant Valley. Cash will not be accepted.
