Special Board Meeting
September 21, 2009
The Special Board meeting of the Pleasant Valley Board of Aldermen was called to order at City Hall, 6500 Royal, Pleasant Valley, Clay County, Missouri by Alderwoman Mast on Monday, September 21, 2009 at 8:58 p.m.
Present were: Maroon, Donnini, Mast, Ammon, Wright, Smith, Bolinger, Jurado and Mayor Slater. Also present were: Police Chief Mark Dumolt, Fire Chief Robert Stinson and Assistant Public Works Director Kevin Cronk.
Department Reports:
City Clerk: TOPIC: T-Mobile/Md7. Information provided regarding the resent correspondence, proposal is an extension and conversion to a long-term lease of the cell-tower site at 6801 Sobbie Road. Proposal will be taken under consideration at the next finance committee meeting.
TOPIC: Mandatory Direct Deposit. Information provided regarding the remaining 8 employees that have not submitted information.
TOPIC: City Central On-line. Information regarding City Central On-line services (web-hosting) ceasing as of January 1, 2010.
TOPIC: Home-based Businesses. Information regarding the resent application for a home based business. The issue has been discussed previously with no action taken by board members on the existing out of compliance businesses. Additional information will be considered at the next work-session.
Courts: No information is brought forward at the time in the absence of Rebecca Bounds, Court Administrator.
Fire Department:
TOPIC: Training session for Chief Stinson. Discussion regarding the cost of training and it’s status in the budget. Ammon moved, second by Smith to allow Chief Stinson to attend training November 5th - 8th in Clearwater Beach, Florida at a cost not to exceed $1,400.00. Yeas: Donnini, Maroon, Wright, Jurado, Bolinger, Mast, Ammon and Smith. Motion passed unanimously.
TOPIC: Up-grade of paging system. Discussion regarding up-grading the existing pager system via Mobile Phone.
Police Department: Chief Dumolt has no information to bring forward at this time. Board members call Chief Dumolt forward to ask various questions regarding his first month of service.
Public Works:TOPIC: 8213 Pleasant Valley Road. Demolition has been completed.
TOPIC: Crack sealing. Mayor Slater would like to see every street crack sealed each year. Discussion followed, with information provided, that crack sealing could be done on a rotating annual basis, not each street annually.
TOPIC: Holiday pay for hourly employees. Discussion regarding the tabled ordinance from the work-session meeting. Mast moved, second by Ammon to forward the tabled ordinance to both sets of attorneys for review. Yeas: Jurado, Bolinger, Smith, Wright, Maroon, Donnini, Mast and Ammon. Motion passed unanimously.
Mast moved, second by Ammon to adjourn. Yeas: Smith, Bolinger, Jurado, Wright, Maroon, Donnini, Mast and Ammon. Motion passed unanimously.
