Special Board Meeting
August 31, 2009
 
 
            The special board meeting of the Pleasant Valley Board of Aldermen was called to order on Monday, August 31, 2009 at 6:05p.m. by Mayor David Slater.
            Present were: Ammon, Maroon, Donnini, Jurado, Wright, Bolinger and Mast.  Smith absent. Also present were: Kevin Cronk, Assistant Director of Public Works and Myron King, Planning/Zoning Chairman.
            Donnini moved, second by Ammon to pass on the first and place on the second Bill NO.  2953. Yeas: Maroon, Wright, Jurado, Bolinger, Mast, Donnini and Ammon. Smith absent. Motion passed.
Bill NO. 2953, Ordinance NO. 2952 an ordinance setting the 2009 tax levy, real and personal property for the City of Pleasant Valley, Clay County, Missouri, and setting the date taxes shall be considered delinquent and setting the penalty for delinquent taxes. Donnini moved, second by Ammon to pass Bill NO. 2953 as Ordinance NO. 2952. Yeas: Mast, Jurado, Bolinger, Wright, Maroon, Donnini and Ammon. Smith absent. Motion passed.
Mast moved, second by Jurado to pay general fund bills in the amount of $1,223.76. Discussion, regarding the possibility of adding Time Warner to utilities to be paid as they are due. Yeas: Donnini, Maroon, Wright, Bolinger, Ammon, Mast and Jurado. Smith absent. Motion passed.
6:12 p.m. Smith arrives.
Mayor Slater brought forward discussion regarding Whitehall Station development owned by Jay Ferguson. After lengthy discussion, the consensus of the Board was to with-hold support until more information is available. Mayor Slater along with Kevin Cronk and Ron Cowger will attend a meeting with Liberty’s Mayor on Wednesday, September 2nd on the proposed development. The intersection of Pleasant Valley Road/Liberty Drive at 69 Hwy/I-35, along with the ramp from I-35 North to 69 Hwy and additional lanes on 69 Hwy are currently shown on the preliminary plans.
Mast moved, second by Bolinger to adjourn. Yeas: Wright, Ammon, Maroon, Donnini, Jurado, Mast and Bolinger. Smith abstains. Motion passed.
